Odessa benefits greatly from its world-class medical facilities, but it also possesses educational resources that function distinctly to equip employees of those facilities. The University of Texas of the Permian Basin, Odessa College, and the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) in Odessa offer two and four year programs in nursing, medicine, and vocational training, preparing students for medical employment.

Medical education centers in Odessa are dedicated to improving the quality of healthcare, medical education and research in the Permian Basin. In addition to several medical residency programs, TTUHSC also offers bachelor’s and doctorate degrees in many healthcare fields.
